PeaceTech Inc. and BALAYAN Community Development and Volunteer Formation Office of the University of St. La Salle held a live video conference last October 6, 2008, 8a.m. at the USLS Coliseum. The video conference was participated by 2000 youth from various schools in Bacolod and Davao City.
The videoconference engaged participants from in a live and interactive dialogue concerning the topic Embracing Diversity: How are Islam and Christianity Religions of Peace? The activity hopes to foster understanding between Muslim and non-Muslim youth, reduce prejudice and discrimination, and find ways on how to work towards peace, even beyond the video dialogue event.
The organizers would like to thank the following schools for their participation: USLS-Integrated School, Negros Occidental High School, St. Rose of Lima School, St. Francis of Assisi School in Silay, Don Felix Montelibano Memorial College in Victorias, Lopez Jaena High School in Murcia, St. Benilde Integrated School, St. John’s Institute and USLS Political Science, Social Science and Religious Studies Department.
